Trump the Latest in Long Line of US Presidents Trampling on International Law

The U.S. missile attack on Syria in response to unproven chemical weapons use by the Assad regime once again puts America in violation of the international laws that we claim to support. The UN charter forbids such action unless it is in self-defense or approved by the UN Security Council, neither of which applies in this case.

How Yulia and Sergei Skripal (and their cat) Saved the World!

Ah, the “Sorrows of Empire.” Its lies these days so easily exposed. Yet, too often ignored.
Saturday morning, April 14, 2018, the world released a collective sigh of relief after a week of anguished hand-wringing at the too-likely possibility of our own utter annihilation. US President, Donald J. Trump, a man of massive ego, reportedly small hands and apparently insignificant phallus, had failed, despite direct attempts by the Big Bad Wolf of American military madness, to blow down the retaining walls protecting human conscience… and reality.
Or fatally damage Syria.

Commander of US Troops in Syria Makes “Secret and Unprecedented” Visit to Israel

(ZHE) — Increasingly it appears that the recent US coalition missile strikes on Syria have utterly backfired: instead of weakening Syria or degrading its military capabilities, the attack may have actually served to strengthen Syria’s defenses. Since the massive strike which involved the US, UK, and France launching over 100 cruise missiles, Russia is rumored to be moving forward on delivery […]

A Shocking Lack of Intelligence in Our Missile Strike on Syria

By Scott Ritter | TruthDig | April 20, 2018 It was a scene that has played out before the American public on multiple occasions in recent history: Representatives of the American defense establishment walked out onto a stage backed by light-blue drapery sporting an oval-shaped sign containing the words “Pentagon” and, below it in smaller […]

Trump Should Ask Israel to Fund America’s Occupation of Syria

On 16 April 2018, the internationally respected analyst of Middle-Eastern affairs, Abdel Bari Atwan, headlined about Trump’s increasingly overt plan to break Syria up and to establish permanent US control over the parts it wants, “Attempting the Unachievable”. He stated that “The coming few months are likely to prove very difficult for the Americans and very costly, not just in Syria but also in Iraq.” He closed: “Who will cover the costs of this American move?

New Photos Show US May Be Expanding Military Bases Ahead of Syria Withdrawal

Twitter user, @obretix, has noted more signs of Trump’s widely-announced ‘troop withdrawal’ from Syria.
U.S. troops, which are supposed to be winding down their presence in Syria, appear to be constructing a new military base between Tell Baydar and Tell Tamr in northern Syria. The base includes a 1.5 kilometer airstrip. According to reports, the base will be able to house about 1,200 troops.

Wanted: The ‘Butcher of Damascus’ to Return Normalcy to Syria

Butcher of Damascus.  Gasser of children.  Baby Killer of Syria.  Tool of Moscow.  Cruel despot.  Monster.
These are all names the western media and politicians routinely heap on Syria’s president, Bashar al-Assad.  He has now become the top Mideast villain, the man we love to hate.
As a veteran Mideast watcher, I find all this hard to swallow. Compared to other brutal Mideast leaders, Assad is pretty weak tea. The U.S./British propaganda effort to paint Assad in blackest colors is having a difficult time.
