It would seem that the proxy war that Washington has been waging on Syria has been nothing but a terrible, humiliating mess, but instead of calling it quits the White House is busy shifting gears again. While demonstrating its intention to strengthen its military presence in Syria, while still providing assistance to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party or PKK that is outlawed in Turkey, the US is now embarking on the mission of creating no-fly zones, the goal it has been after all along.

Russia says terrorists plan to stage a chlorine attack, with the assistance of UK special services, to create a pretext for the US and the West to strike Syria. The Russian spokesman identified Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, which is a rebranding of al-Qaeda, as the group planning to stage the attack and put the blame in on Assad's forces. [...]

September 1 will mark the 62nd anniversary of the secret formal request by the government of France to Israel for Israel to attack Egypt. 

The plan was for France, soon joined by the UK, to invade Egypt on the pretext of safeguarding the Suez Canal, in hopes of precipitating the overthrow of President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
