Seattle City Council Pushes For Dismissal of Misdemeanor Crimes Based on Poverty and Drug Addiction

The dismissal of all misdemeanor crimes, excluding DUI and domestic violence, effectively legalizes those crimes. The new law was introduced into the budget process, rather than in the open with a hearing, and would open the floodgates for crime, including theft, assault, harassment, trespass and more.
