Reactionary And Corrupt DCCC Chairman Steve Israel Opposes An Independent Scotland

Don't bet on an independent Scotland next month. Scottish residents-- anyone over 16 years old-- go to the polls September 18 for a referendum that asks one simple question: "Should Scotland be an independent country?" Before 1603, when King James VI of Scotland became King James I of England, Scotland was a fully independent kingdom. In 1707 the two countries were formally joined to form the United Kingdom. Although Scotland kind of did vote for independence in 1979, the referendum failed because not enough people participated.

The Scottish Referendum on Independence

When I wrote about the approaching Scottish Referendum on independence, I didn’t expect such a huge reaction.  All I wanted was to make clear the shame and embarrassment I personally felt, caused by the heavy-handed and idiotic efforts of the “Better Together” camp to persuade, browbeat and in some cases bribe, the Scots to vote against independence.  Also, as an Englishwoman I had taken no sides; I simply acknowledged how much Scotland has to be proud of, and the rest of us to be grateful for.

I was bullied by BBC over academic report on indyref bias – the Scottish media blackout must end

Senior BBC figures reported me to senior staff at my university and colleagues of mine were even warned to ‘stay away’ from me. I see this as a clear form of bullying by a powerful corporation. The great crime I’d committed was in publishing the results of a study which indicated that BBC Scotland’s coverage of the Scottish independence referendum between September 2012 and September 2013 noticeably favoured the No campaign.

“The dogs bark, but the caravan passes on.”

Only when Mark Carney, Christine Lagarde and Prince Charles start talking about the abolition of privately created debt-based money should we even begin to take them seriously. Of course such an affront to the obscenely wealthy would have seen even Prince Charles ejected from the Mansion House soiree.

Food and Water Wars

The “warming of the Arctic” could become one of the greatest catastrophes in human history, even exceeding the notoriety of Adolf Hitler and Genghis Khan. Likely, it will impact more people than the combined effect of those brutal leaders. In fact, global warming may eventually be categorized as the greatest threat of all time, even greater than the Black Death’s 75-to-200 million dead, circa 1350.
