Brexit which in many ways put British politics on the international map for the first time since the 1960s, was not supposed to happen. The establishment of all the major parties, the business sector, academia, the mainstream media, the arts and science community (which still hold some influence in Britain) were all opposed to it.
Likewise, the polling data was so set against Brexit that on the night of the vote, a sober Nigel Farage all but conceded defeat. Several hours and several drinks later he emerged to give a victory speech.

Exercise can undoubtedly help you live better, but what about longer? Are there certain activities that are better than others? Yes, and yes. A study published in the BMJ suggests that exercise can reduce your risk of death from cardiovascular-related issues (think heart disease or stroke), and there are certain activities that may be more beneficial than others. British Prime Minister Theresa May has surprised many by calling for a general election to be held on the 8 of June.
After the Brexit vote in June of last year, many immediately called for a general election in order for Parliament to better reflect the mood of the country in respect of the largely unexpected victory for those favouring Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union.

With full parliamentary approval behind her, British Prime Minister Theresa May is due to invoke Article 50 tomorrow, formally initiating Britain’s Brexit process, at the same time as the Scottish Parliament has just voted to hold a second independence referendum.
This affair has been absurdly protracted, entirely as a result of Theresa May’s own indecision.

For years, the main parties of the UK have had virtually no relations with the Front National of France, the party founded by Jean-Marie Le Pen and currently led by French Presidential candidate Marine Le Pen.
Even though many, including myself, are predicting that Le Pen will be the next French President, the UK elite still have virtually no communications with her or her party.

Nicola Sturgeon has triggered a fresh constitutional battle over Scotland’s future after announcing plans to stage a second independence referendum within two years.

Last month saw the death of a long-time British Labour MP Gerald Kaufman. Kaufman was a beloved figure in Parliament and was remembered for taking a keen interest in Palestinian freedom, recognising the importance of Jews such as himself working with Muslims, Christians and all others for a common cause based on the notions of human rights and justice for Palestine.

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has detailed her intention to hold a referendum on Scottish independence.
Although a referendum on Scottish independence was held in 2014 which was narrowly won by the ‘remain in UK’ side. However, with Scottish people voting strongly against Brexit, the issue of independence is very much on the table. In 2014, the word Brexit did not exist and the natural assumption was that Scotland was voting to remain in a UK that would forever be in the EU.
Now, the pro-EU population of Scotland find themselves faced with new realities.
