The Trump Administration continues to wage economic warfare on the world, but have they gone too far this time? The US government reached a new level of stupid this week when it ordered the arrest and extradition of Meng Wanzhou (pictured above), a Chinese citizen and CEO of telecoms giant Huawei CFO – purportedly for violating US sanctions on Iran.
The new unilateral sanctions by the United States against Iran, Russia and Syria add to the previous actions concerning the same three targets. They now form the most unforgiving embargo in History. The way in which they have been organized is illegal according to the definition of the Charter of the United Nations – these are weapons of war, designed for killing.
The United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) has assigned US $9.2 million during the month of November to reinforce existing efforts to alleviate the impact of Venezuela’s economic downturn, UN officials announced Monday.
