How ‘dangerous’ is Putin’s Russia?

Enough about Russia already. If one likes ballet or nineteenth century literature, one could understand having a Russia obsession. Maybe some people have an unusual affinity for snow and cold, having a particular passion for ice hockey or luge. Perhaps then, this could be comprehended. If one trades in commodities, such as gas or wheat or timber, for a living maybe one could be forgiven.

Russia responds to Trump: ‘US missiles fired at Syria will be shot down, origin of launch will be targeted’

“The Russian forces will confront any US aggression on Syria, by intercepting the missiles and striking their launch pads,” said Moscow’s envoy to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin in an interview with al-Manar TV.
He continued by saying, that “Russia will implement what its President [Vladimir Putin] announced on dealing with any American aggression on Syria by knocking down US missiles and targeting its launch centers.”

Putin: US deployed 5 cruisers, 30 destroyers near Russian borders

Russian president Vladimir Putin stated on Thursday March 1st, that the United States has deployed 30 destroyers and five cruisers in close proximity to the Russian borders.

The global US anti-ballistic missile system includes a naval group. These are five cruisers and 30 destroyers, as far as we know, deployed in areas in the immediate vicinity of the territory of Russia…”

US finally admits: ‘NO EVIDENCE’ Assad used sarin gas

Secretary of Defense James Mattis stated on or about February 2nd, 2018 that the United States has “no evidence” that the Syrian government used the banned nerve agent Sarin against its own people in attacks in 2013 and 2017.  The most recent one provoked a massive Tomahawk strike ordered by President Trump that was quite provocative in the eyes of the Russian Federation and of course the Syrian government.
