Development of international transport corridors fosters trade and promotes political convergence of countries. Russia has long been seeking to reinforce its relations with the Middle Eastern, Central and Southeast Asian states. The routes connecting the richest Eurasian states run across the Russian Federation. Russia itself boasts a well-developed network of roads and railways. Being blessed with such a favorable geographic location, Russia can easily claim the role of a major international trade hub.

The year 2016 has been pivotal one for mankind. The foreign and economic policies of the USA are in shambles as the Obama era ends.

The last year was marked by a number of important events that NEO’s been covering daily due to the valiant effort of all of our authors. The rapid growth in the number of terrorist attacks and the ongoing armed conflicts — that is the outcome of the short-sighted policies employed by certain countries and Wahhabi states.

Russia may look big on the map, but its foreign policy has often been perceived as being a reactive one. It has always felt a need to protect itself from outsiders, so called “Great Powers” encroaching on its borders, whether it was the French, Germans or the creeping establishment of NATO bases on its borders.

In August, 2016 the Chinese city of Changchun hosted the 21st summit of international exchange and cooperation of Northeast Asian regional administration officials. The forum was attended by delegations from Russia, China, Republic of Korea, Mongolia and Japan. High-ranking representatives of these states discussed important issues of trade, transport, and environment cooperation.

The construction of the first Iranian nuclear power plant close to the city of Bushehr was launched by the German Kraftwerk Union in 1974 during the reign of the last Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. At that time, Iran cooperated in the nuclear industry with the USA and European countries. After the Islamic Revolution in 1979 and creation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the construction was suspended and Europe and the USA started to treat the nuclear program of Iran with suspicion.

This author’s thoughts immediately returned to a “duck and cover” film they showed us in El Paso, Texas when I was in the 2nd grade. These pesky Russians, simply will not give up in their quest for world domination! But wait, wait just one minute…

Hysterics are the western leadership’s most effective weapons against imaginary Russian foes. Or are imaginary Russian foes the cause of idiotic hysterics by western leaders? Whatever the case, it’s easy to get confused these days. Black is white, truth is a lie, Russia a friend or a foe, today the only certainty is more uncertainties and warmongering. Russia’s sailing a rusty aircraft carrier to Syrian waters is sure to cause an international arms race now.

More bang for the buck is the most apt description when we compare spending of the United States Government with that of the Government of the Russian Federation on its defense sector and military technology development. A closer look at the two budgets reveals the huge fault line that cuts across the entire US economy today. It also mirrors the true collapse of the American hegemon as a world power. It need not have been.
