RT reports that a new law that requires Internet service providers to keep records of their clients’ traffic, for state security services to review upon request came into force on 1 July. However the law’s purpose is quite a bit more than it appears on the surface:

On Tuesday June 19th, 2012, Julian Assange walked into the Ecuador’s embassy in London to claim asylum.
The WikiLeaks founder walked into the Ecuadorian embassy and claimed asylum under the UN’s human rights declaration. This followed an unsuccessful attempt to appeal against his deportation to Sweden to face allegations of rape.
The following morning on June 20th the Metropolitan police declared that Assange, who is still under bail conditions following his unsuccessful appeal to extradition, had breached those conditions.

Speaking at a press conference in China following a successful SCO summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to comment on the G7 final statement but said that its criticism of Russia’s “so-called destabilizing efforts” in the West is “unfounded,” and that “this creative babbling” by other world leaders has so far “led to nothing.”
Putin told those at the press conference that Russia did not choose to leave the G7 and would be happy to host its members in Moscow. Putin told reporters at a briefing in China’s city of Qingdao…
