I keep hearing every elected official who talks about the protests-- and especially the looting and vandalism-- claim that the "troublemakers" are agitators from out-of-state. Which state? Someone is coming into California to rampage down Rodeo Drive and then Hollywood Blvd? I don't believe it-- and neither should you.

You may recall that last cycle Blue America teamed up with a group of progressive evangelical pastors, Vote Common Good, to help progressive candidates across the country get in touch with evangelical voters who were not feeling Trump and his enablers were good for their families and our country. They helped elect more than a few Democrats to the House, including Katie Porter (D-CA) and Veronica Escobar (D-TX).

I don't go in for identity politics at all. Voting for someone because they were born a woman, gay, of any particular religion, Asian or black, for example, is not my cup pf tea. Nor is voting for someone who is a veteran, a scientist, a doctor or part of any age group. Take women. Women make up 51% of the population but just 22% of the Senate and 19% of the House. That's outrageous.

That Republican shit-show Thursday night was the worst of all in the infotainment political series passed of as debates. I'll be honest, after the 20th or 30th rant about how Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton destroyed America, I just turned it off in disgust and went out for dinner. The six of them had nothing to offer America voters, just red meat to the pack of partisan jackels sitting in the audience, applauding whenever anyone said something about "bombing" or "destroying" or uttered something patently false from Hate Talk Radio about Obama or Hillary.
Thursday John Podesta, Hillary's campaign chair, told a group of the rich stakeholders in the campaign that he thinks Cruz will be the candidate, although he feels Herr Trumpf and Rubio each also has a shot. He didn't mention anything about a fixed convention giving the nomination to Ryan. But Cruz is a good idea and it's been who DWT has called it for since the beginning of time. You can always count on the GOP base-- and this was clearly going to be their election cycle-- to go for the ugliest of all possibilities.

They rarely used the word "ever" or "never." They must have thought this section was pretty important to the essence of what they were trying to accomplish.
