The anarchist political observer Noam Chomsky has over the years espoused a strategy of voting for the Democrat in swing states. Recently Chomsky, with John Halle, propounded “An Eight Point Brief for LEV (Lesser Evil Voting).”
The collapse of the Grenadian Revolution on 19 October 19831 should be carefully examined for the lessons that it might offer to organizers in the Caribbean who are currently organizing with the labouring classes. If the working-class shall be the architect of its liberation, the process of revolution-making should enable them to fulfill that role. The Illegality of the U.S. War on Iraq
One overlooked lesson of the invasion and occupation of Iraq is that international law–even the most fundamental one embodied in Article 2 of the UN Charter prohibiting use of force in international relations–can be violated with impunity, without legal ramifications or sanctions. Even Henry Kissinger–that embodiment of vicious amorality and imperialist aggression–noted in 2002 that the planned invasion would upset the structure of international relations existing since the Treaty of Westphalia 1648. Never mind, it happened anyway.
We have reached a point where Insanity in the political sphere can prove fatal to all mankind. When I was younger during the Cold War, I did not believe we would ever use nuclear weapons. Why? Because Hydrogen Bombs are bad. They kill rich people. But mass starvation is good because only poor people starve to death. And the poor cannot afford to pay taxes to subsidize the rich. Unfortunately, there are now people within the United States government who do want to launch WW III.
