I finally stopped following the demented Twitter ravings of GOP Hate Talk Radio host Bryan Fischer and… my life is more relaxed and productive without all that satanic hatred and bigotry spewing out of him. One thing about Fischer, though… whatever extremist, anti-social nonsense he's spouting now, will become official Republican Party doctrine in a relatively short time.
Kaiser Wilhelm II allowed zeppelins to bomb Liège in Belgium in August, 1914, right at the beginning of WW I and soon the zeppelins were dropping bombs on Paris as well, even damaging Notre Dame Cathedral. Willy was ok with bombing English military installations and docks but forbade targeting London in the fear that a bomb might hoot one of his royal relatives but by 1915 he was already being ignored by the military and they began a terror bombing of London. Last week, as you may have read (here and here), I spent time out at the State University of New York, Stony Brook, where I haven't been since graduating in 1969. That's 45 years ago and I literally didn't recognize a single thing about the campus, at least not physically. One moment that did ring a bell however, was when one of the administrators asked me if I'm an atheist.
Last night I took old friend, Wisconsin Democratic Senate Leader Chris Larson, for dinner at the best vegan restaurant in the area, Crossroads. Unfortunately, all the desserts are made with sugar so afterwards, we went down the road to Cafe Gratitude for some sugar-free, gluten-free desserts. As we were parking and walking over to the restaurant, I explained to Chris that the place was run by a cult. He seemed stunned. "Oh, they're harmless enough," I assured him.

I'm still certain that producing the White EP prepared a young David Kahne for the work he would go on to do producing albums for Sublime, Fishbone, Sugar Ray, Paul McCartney, Tony Bennett, The Bangles and Regina Spektor. For me, a dj at the time, "The Catholics Are Attacking" posed a real problem.
