Minnesota Cop who Shot and Killed Philando Castile Charged with Manslaughter

The Minnesota cop who shot and killed Philando Castile during a traffic stop this year after the 32-year-old man said he was legally carrying a concealed weapon was charged with second-degree manslaughter today.
St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez was also charged with two felony counts of dangerous discharge of a gun, which endangered the lives of Castile’s girlfriend and her four-year-old daughter sitting in the back seat of the car.

NYPD Prevails; Judge Tosses TV Cameraman’s Right to Record Lawsuit

On Wednesday, a U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York judge threw out a lawsuit brought against three NYPD cops by a TV cameraman who was arrested after climbing on a phone booth to get a better shot of an arrest at Occupy Wall Street in 2011.
Douglas Higginbotham, who was then working with TV New Zealand, brought the suit against police officer Curtis Sylvester, Sergeant Christoper Tomlinson, and Captain Taffe, whose first name is unknown.

An Ohio man who stole an Oakwood Village police cruiser after struggling with a cop is still at large.
The incident was captured on video by a witness, who began recording when a cop and the man were struggling in the middle of the street.
“This nigga just hopped in a police car and drove the fuck off,” said the man recording as he was driving away in his own car.
The man posted it on his Facebook page.

Philadelphia Cops Threaten to Seize Man’s Phone for Recording them Arresting Other Men

Philadelphia cops were arresting two men on a darkened street for disorderly conduct aka “contempt of cop” when one of the men being arrested called out to a passing bicyclist, asking him to record the interaction.
The cyclist, Jean-Jacques Gabriel, wasted no time in stopping his bike, pulling out his smart phone and video recording on Facebook Live.
The cops then began harassing him with their usual bullying routine; accusing him of obstructing traffic, even though Gabriel was standing across the street on his bicycle in a bike lane.

An Ohio man video recorded a graphic video showing cops shooting into a car as it was driving away after it had struck a police motorcycle.
The man in the car, Frank Sandor, appeared to have gotten away at first, but he ended up crashing his car across the street, which was when he was pronounced dead.
The incident took place at 1 p.m. Thursday in a shopping center in Willoughby.
Willoughby police said Sandor injured a cop who was either on or near the bike, but the video does not start until after the crash.

Colorado Springs police pulled over a pair of black brothers in a white neighborhood last year without telling them the reason for the traffic stop, pulling both men out the car at gunpoint and frisking them before handcuffing them.
The passenger of the car, Ryan Brown, began recording and narrating the scene until he was shoved face first into the snow. His phone was pried out of his hand, turned off and tossed aside.

An award-winning California deputy who has been sued three times in six years for beating citizens with his flashlight remains on the force, even after the latest lawsuit against him settled for $200,000 on Tuesday.
Of course, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department never admitted to any wrongdoing in any of the settlements involving deputy Paul “Scotte” Pfeifer.
But two of three incidents were caught on video, showing us there was plenty of wrongdoing on his part.
So it’s only a matter of time before he strikes again with his flashlight.

“Do not fucking reach!” an enraged Los Angeles sheriff’s deputy shouted after pulling out his gun on a licensed private investigator sitting in his car in a residential neighborhood working on a case.
But all Ken Sheppard was doing was reaching towards his ear to remove his cell phone ear piece in order to better hear the deputy.
However, that was enough to make deputy Tai Plunkett fear for his life where he kept the gun pointed at Sheppard’s head with trembling hands in a surreal scene seemingly out of a movie.
