Part II – Orthodox capitulation to authorities was wrong – from a laywoman

Part I of this series addressed a recent letter posted on the website of the Orthodox Church in America, calling out Father Peter Heers for reading a letter from an Athonite elder who spoke strongly against the complicity of Orthodox Christian hierarchs all over the world against the COVID-19 health restrictions placed on churchgoers and the Divine Services themselves, most notably the Divine Liturgy

Apostasy: Fauci advises Christians NOT to receive Communion [Video]

On May 28th, we reported on how the Orthodox Church in the United States appears to have forsaken faith in Christ for fear of COVID-19. This situation is of course, not limited to Orthodoxy, as almost every church congregation throughout the land has acquiesced to the “experts” who insist that this virus is somehow more powerful than God, or are at least distracted by the secularist gosepl: “nothing is more important than your health” and its underlying premise: “there is no life beyond this one. No resurrection.

America reopens as common sense – and anger – begin to defeat COVID paranoia [Video]

Finally, the long hell of imposed self-isolation is breaking – at least in much of the United States. America reopens now. The self-isolation period – a very unhealthy period, physically as well as psychologically – is being shown to have been a producer of the damage and death during its imposition, but even more now. We present Tucker Carlson’s assessment first:

Tucker Carlson brings some of the most interesting and significant questions up in this clip:

New Russian Orthodox Cathedral set to open on Victory Day [Video]

The Russian Orthodox Church has been on the rise since the fall of Communism in 1991. The country has been opening new parishes at the rate of two to three per day. This new Cathedral of the Armed Forces, built at a military theme park outside Moscow, is one of the largest Christian edifices in Russia, and hence one of the largest Orthodox Christian cathedrals on the planet.
Dr Steve Turley gives a phenomenal explanation of the building and more importantly, delves into Orthodox Christian cosmology, which is unique among all Christian confessions.

A Prayer in the Time of Pandemic

A Prayer in the Time of Pandemic

Affirming spirituality as the power over life and death I aspire to achieve
this spirituality that is nothing other than the blending of love and mystery
cherishing wonder at a precarious precipice, respecting knowledge
prayer seemed a weakening of spirit, a reaching out to the void, pretending
that there was someone there ready to respond, a metaphysical crutch in times of need

God in the Classroom!

Unfolding Debate about Secularising Education ( To be published in ‘Indian Journal of Secularism) “There is in every village a torch – the teacher; and an extinguisher – the priest.” -Victor Hugo Introduction “Keep the words God, Jesus and the devil out of the classroom.” A school teacher’s message on the first day of the … Continue reading God in the Classroom! →

The Pences: defenders of Christian values in the White House

A companion article noted that Christian believers in the US are seeking to help stand for those Christians in far off lands who are being martyred and persecuted for their faith at the hands of ISIS and other cruel religious and secular forces. But we also noted that this problem is extremely fierce in the Western “Christian” world, but the attacks try to bring Christian life to irrelevance and “shame it out of existence.”
An example of this in action came from Yahoo.com, carrying a news piece from AFP. Here is that piece; we have added emphases to focus on our point:

Member of new Ukrainian Church does not know the Lord’s Prayer [Video]

On January 6th, 2019 a large crowd was gathered, presumably near a site of the newly established “Ukrainian Orthodox Church”, a hodgepodge assembly of Ukrainian hyper-nationalists, neo-Nazis and probably a lot of Orthodox Christians who do not understand, or wish to understand what is being done against their faith. The crowd, represented by at least two priests, accosted a young man who was evidently part of this new glorious community and asked him one or two simple questions: “Do you know the Lord’s Prayer?”, “Do you know the Creed?”
The young man did not know.
