On 24 of March the first general election in 7 years was held in Thailand. It was meant to put an end to the 5-year rule by the military, who came to power in 2014 as a result of a coup d’etat.
It is worth highlighting straight away that the election did not shed any light on the future of politics in the nation, and instead generated an even more uncertain situation, which the ruling elite are now trying to rectify.
The latest round of negotiations between the United States and the Taliban reached their inglorious conclusion in the capital of Qatar (the city of Doha).
Nonetheless, Suhail Shaheen, the political spokesman for the Taliban (an organization banned in Russia), tweeted, somewhat tersely, that during the sixth round of peace negotiations “some progress” had been made, and that the sides (Note!) would meet again for the next set of talks.
Headlines, such as “Theft of Golan’s Oil and Water”, “Law of Jungle vs. Heights of Golan”, “Beyond Golan: Extent of Trump’s Support for Israel” and many others, have filled Middle Eastern media platforms in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Israel’s claims over Golan Heights.
The American political circus is trembling violently again, in a ring where vultures of every stripe have been caught in a chokehold. Special Counsel Robert Mueller is not thinking of finding a dignified solution anymore – he is simply trying to find a way out of a very difficult situation. Like the mythical Sisyphus, Mueller makes a tremendous effort but fails to move apart all the political vultures, who are equally weary of all the bickering which has made a circus out of the United States.
A new survey found that seven percent of Americans believe that chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Fourty-eight percent don't know where it comes from at all.
