For the past several years I’ve averted my eyes from Fukushima. (Who doesn’t want to make it disappear?) Then, as the sixth anniversary loomed, I wonder, what could one possibly say? Hadn’t it all been said?
I ponder – and then make a shocking discovery: In my mind’s eye I’d temporarily misplaced Fukushima.
In fact, I’d moved it!
Year over year, ever since 2011, the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear meltdown grows worse and worse, an ugly testimonial to the inherent danger of generating electricity via nuclear fission, which produces isotopes, some of the most deadly poisonous elements on the face of the planet.
Fukushima Diiachi has been, and remains, one of the world’s largest experiments; i.e., what to do when all hell breaks lose aka The China Syndrome.

Nuclear power may never recover its cachet as a clean energy source, irrespective of safety concerns, because of the ongoing saga of meltdown 3/11/11 at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. But it wasn’t only himself that he beat: he became the first runner with a T20 paralympic classification (also known as an intellectual disability with an IQ under 75) to break the 4 minute mile.
