Pandemic Follies: Tyranny Won’t Keep Us Safe

Pandemic Follies: Tyranny Won’t Keep Us Safe by James Bovard September 30, 2020 ==== Politicians have destroyed more than 13 million jobs this year in a deluge of edicts aimed to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 200,000 Americans still died from the coronavirus, but the anti-COVID government crackdowns probably did far more damage than the […]

Rand Paul on issues from no-knock raids to arguing COVID with Dr Fauci [Video]

Rand Paul is often the most reasonable voice in American representative politics. A libertarian, and one with views that could be classified as “anti-conservative” (though not liberal), Rand, like his father Ron, arrive at their viewpoints though remarkable efforts at critical thinking. This makes it very difficult to pin Senator Paul down as any kind of ideologue. This is a good thing.
Then the video deals with Dr Fauci. This segment starts at [02:49] and is important.

Why I Said NYC Is Dead – James Altucher

James Altucher, ex hedge fund manager turned blogger, wrote about his concerns on the effect of corona virus and rioting on New York economic sustainability.  People are leaving in numbers that will add to the economic crisis.  James is a New Yorker and loves his city, but in raising the alarm he triggered vitriol from fellow New Yorkers about his article.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot of Chicago demonstrates unapologetic elitism [Video]

Chicago Mayor, Lori Lightfoot, has made a lot of news in recent months. Cursing out her councilman (who is also a very liberal Democrat) who wanted to protect his constituents in his own neighborhood, reviling President Trump and driving business out of her own city’s center, with Macys and Bloomingdales both closing their stores on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, the mayor has demonstrated the same absolutely insane reasoning process being duplicated in Seatlle, Portland, New York City and all other Democrat-controlled states and cities in the country.

Seattle police chief slams city ordinance, telling citizens “you are on your own” [Video]

Seatlle police chief Carmen Best has had enough. After two months of CHAZ, CHOP and nightly riots, aided and abetted by a super-liberal Mayor that only cares about using her city’s suffering to make President Trump look like the problem, the Seatlle City Council passed an ordinance forbidding officers to use “less-than-lethal” ordinance to quell extremely violent rioting that has been taking place in the city.
The Chief posted this open letter on Twitter:

Catch and Kill: the Protection Racket Used by Trump, Weinstein, Epstein and Wall Street

Pam MARTENS, Russ MARTENS
When it comes to the crime families of New York, they literally do catch and kill people who can’t be trusted to keep the secrets of their criminal operations. When it comes to the superrich in New York, they’re more inclined to “catch and kill” the story, rather than the accuser. (Jeffrey Epstein’s untimely death last year may be an exception.)
On October 11, 2017, Jim Rutenberg, writing for the New York Times about the aiders and abettors to Harvey Weinstein’s sexual assaults, explained the catch and kill strategy as follows:

Trump throws down the gauntlet at Oval Office News Conference [Video]

President Trump has enormous media transparency, far more than any president in history. Love him or hate him, his talent at using a hostile media to get his own message out is formidable and apparently quite effective. Here, the President gives a short, ten-minute interview in which he states in very clear terms that the spiraling violence is due to the weakness and complicity of Democrat leaders in major American cities.
