In early June of 1967, at the onset of the Six Day War, the Pentagon sent the USS Liberty from Spain into international waters off the coast of Gaza to monitor the progress of Israel’s attack on the Arab states. The Liberty was a lightly armed surveillance ship.
Only hours after the Liberty arrived it was spotted by the Israeli military. The IDF sent out reconnaissance planes to identify the ship. They made eight trips over a period of three hours. The Liberty was flying a large US flag and was easily recognizable as an American vessel.

Not a day passes without a prominent Israeli politician or intellectual making an outrageous statement against Palestinians. Many of these statements tend to garner little attention or evoke rightly deserved outrage.
Israel has released new documents dating from the 1967 war. According to Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth the papers date from the period during and immediately after the war and “document Israeli officials’ discussions regarding the fate of the occupied Arab territories.”
In one of the documents Zerah Verheftig, a minister, suggested distinguishing between Sinai and Golan on the one hand, and the West Bank on the other. He said, “Sinai’s regions and Golan Heights are considered to be occupied by Israel, while the West Bank has been liberated.”
The Zionist project is now in full swing and is threatening the safety of the whole Middle Eastern region and thus the safety of the whole world. No country would be spared if this project is not confronted and not halted.

First of all, let me thank you for inviting me to address this important conference. I am neither a professor nor a doctor. Indeed, the highest academic title I ever achieved was SEC (Seventh Elementary Class).
But like many members of my generation, from early youth I took a profound interest in archeology.
I shall try to explain why.

If there is a God, he surely has a sense of humor. The career of Shimon Peres, who is about to finish his term as President of Israel, is clear evidence.
Here is a life-long politician, who has never won an election. Here is the world-renowned Man of Peace, who has started several wars and never done anything for peace. Here is the most popular political figure in Israel who for most of his life was hated and despised.
