Britain Signs Military Cooperation Deal With Saudi Arabia

Britain and Saudi Arabia signed a framework deal on military and security cooperation, Saudi state news agency SPA said on Tuesday, redoubling efforts to counter Iran in the Gulf region and defeat the Islamic State (IS) group.
Prime Minister Theresa May said in December that Britain would invest over 3 billion pounds ($4.05bn) in defense in Gulf Arab states over the next decade as it seeks to build on traditionally strong ties with the conservative, oil-wealthy monarchies before its planned departure from the European Union.

Mohammed bin Salman, the heir to the Saudi throne, confessed to two former US officials he “wants out” of the brutal two-year war he started in Yemen, and added that he was “okay” with Washington engaging with his arch-foe Iran, according to leaked emails obtained by Middle East Eye.

An American diplomat said that appointing Mohammed Bin Salman as the crown prince of Saudi Arabia was like a “dream come true for Israel”, Haaretz reported.
The former US Ambassador to Israel, Daniel Shapiro, said that the appointment of Bin Salman opens an unprecedented opportunity for Israel to improve its regional position and supports it in facing its strategic and security challenges.
