RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA – (Analysis) On Tuesday, international corporate media outlets were abuzz with the news that the hyper-conservative kingdom of Saudi Arabia had finally lifted its ban on women drivers.
Britain and Saudi Arabia signed a framework deal on military and security cooperation, Saudi state news agency SPA said on Tuesday, redoubling efforts to counter Iran in the Gulf region and defeat the Islamic State (IS) group.
Prime Minister Theresa May said in December that Britain would invest over 3 billion pounds ($4.05bn) in defense in Gulf Arab states over the next decade as it seeks to build on traditionally strong ties with the conservative, oil-wealthy monarchies before its planned departure from the European Union.

An American diplomat said that appointing Mohammed Bin Salman as the crown prince of Saudi Arabia was like a “dream come true for Israel”, Haaretz reported.
The former US Ambassador to Israel, Daniel Shapiro, said that the appointment of Bin Salman opens an unprecedented opportunity for Israel to improve its regional position and supports it in facing its strategic and security challenges.
Newly appointed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is a war criminal of highest magnitude.
The new future king, is also suffering from delusions of grandeur, stating yesterday that he “won’t ‘go soft’ on Russia anymore,” noting that Saudi Arabia’s “military capabilities will be enough to destroy Russian forces in Syria in 3 days.”

Senior Israeli ministers have called on Saudi Arabia’s King Salman to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel.
Speaking at the Herzliya conference on Thursday, Israel’s intelligence and transportation minister Yisrael Katz asked King Salman to invite Prime Minister Netanyahu to Riyadh and to send newly appointed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Tel Aviv in return.
(ANTIMEDIA) — According to Reuters, a royal decree has relieved Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef of his post as Crown Prince, as well as his role as First Deputy Prime Minister. He has been replaced by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, King Salman’s 31-year-old son. The promotion confirms the king’s son as the next ruler of the kingdom over Mohammed bin Nayef, the king’s nephew.
