BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 A.M.) – The Israeli Defense Minister, Naftali Bennett, stated that Israel should have sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, stressing that Israel will not recognize the Palestinian state under any circumstances after U.S. President Donald Trump announced the details of his plan for peace in the Middle East.
“Israeli sovereignty must be in all the lands of Judea and Samaria,” Bennett wrote in a tweet. “We will not allow recognition of the Palestinian state under any circumstances.”

  So far I don’t feel compelled to address the coronavirus or Trumps new map for peace in any substantive form. The coronavirus is garnering an excessive amount of coverage already. As for Trump’s idea of a “peace” plan, this was always going to be more pieces of Palestine for Israel’s expansionary benefit.  The very same plan is unfolding in the wider region around Israel. Trump has never hidden the fact that his primary concern was for Israel.

Analysis of Donald Trump’s proposed “two-state solution” to the Israeli-Palestinian problem has followed a predictable pattern. Trump supporters have hailed it as a realistic attempt to bring peace to the region. His opponents say it is a means of distracting from his impeachment and helping his ally Benjamin Netanyahu, who is facing multiple corruption charges himself.

Ignoring past Israeli prime ministers who warned that annexation of the West Bank would introduce legal apartheid to Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu said the first phase of annexations would go to the Cabinet on Sunday, reports Joe Lauria.

Within hours of the so-called Trump peace plan on the Palestine-Israel question being revealed on Tuesday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would propose the first phase of West Bank annexation to the Israeli cabinet on Sunday.

Nowadays, hardly anyone would probably disagree with the statement that the Trump administration’s actions in the Middle East have been more than just careless. With its conduct and policies, Washington is in fact pushing away its key allies in the region, which we can clearly see by following U.S. strategy, first and foremost, in relation to Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Since October of last year there have been ongoing mass demonstrations in Iraq, which have not yet subsided. As a result of clashes with law enforcement agencies, at least 600 protesters have died and over 16,000 have sustained injuries. Iraq’s President Barham Salih cited these statistics during his speech at the recently finished World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos (Switzerland).
