Finally a Foreign War Close to Home

Since the end of the Cold War it seems almost like US/NATO forces have been looking for even the slightest casus belli to start a destabilizing conflict in a foreign nation. But these military actions have been exclusively focused on targets that are very far away from the homeland. Distant locations like the former Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria were all on the bad end of a “well intentioned” intervention with crippling results for the local population.

Mexico Rejects Trump’s Threat of US Military Operations Against Drug Cartels

A good old fashioned Mexican standoff, or is it? 
Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador warned President Trump on Friday that he will not permit the US military to conduct ‘cross-border operations’.
This latest diplomatic debacle comes after Trump said will soon be designating Mexican drug cartels as “terrorist groups.”
Will this issue culminate in a physical confrontation between the US and Mexico?
