This post is based on a letter I wrote in reply to someone who has known me as a teacher. I have responded to her as one concerned citizen to another, but with her student experience in mind. We agreed it would be an idea to make the response available to anyone else who shared similar concerns.

Still reeling from Hillary Clinton’s epic campaign collapse and loss to Donald Trump in 2016, and unable to defend its own lies and epic failures in Syria – the western establishment is now unleashing a disinformation campaign designed to demonize and vilify dissenting voice.

The second half of my life has been a continual process of disillusionment with the institutions I used to respect. I suppose it started with the FCO, where I went from being Britain’s youngest ambassador to being sacked for opposing the use of intelligence from torture, at the same time having an insider view of the knowing lies about Iraqi WMD being used as a pretext for invasion and resource grab.

The latest UK ‘intelligence’ claims that somehow Syria was involved in the supposed “Novichok” in Salisbury on March 4th. This incredible epiphany comes at the exact time when the US and UK are trying to convince the public that the Syrian government launched a “chemical attack” against its own people in Damascus.
For the last 7 years, US and UK government policymakers and operatives have been instrumental in planting propaganda in thousands of ‘news’ reports and then citing them as ‘evidence’ to support their stated policy of regime change in Syria.
It’s not enough for concerned Europeans, Americans and Canadians to say they care about ‘the Syrian refugees.’ Instead they might take a look in the mirror and realize that they are in fact paying for the proxy war which has created this refugee crisis in the first place.
