Rand Paul is often the most reasonable voice in American representative politics. A libertarian, and one with views that could be classified as “anti-conservative” (though not liberal), Rand, like his father Ron, arrive at their viewpoints though remarkable efforts at critical thinking. This makes it very difficult to pin Senator Paul down as any kind of ideologue. This is a good thing.

The American handling of the coronavirus crisis has been a combination of the best and the worst of our nation. President Trump did an excellent job supporting the nation through this and leading us out of the severe economic and employment problems that the lockdown imposed on citizens in most of the US.

Covid-19 has brought economies to their knees. The question is how long and how severe the resulting recession will be. The answer depends on the quality and quantity of global stimulus packages. Social unrest is already happening in some countries.
Things are getting grim on the economic front for lower classes.
Lockdowns are making no difference to flattening the Covid curve, except flattening the economy.

I had fun on Chicago radio this morn with Dan Proft and Amy Jacobson on their Morning Answer program exposing school shams and COVID cons and kicking Thomas Hobbes for good measure.   This YouTube video is the best case scenario:  videos of them but only audio of me.
