What could be a more perfect chief prosecutor (in Trump's own backyard, no less-- where he committed decades of crimes and where so many of his cronies reside) for Trump than one who has never prosecuted a case?

I can't wait, but until then, we'll have to satisfy ourselves with a long, learned essay she wrote for The Atlantic this weekend, The Collaborators-- History Will Judge The Complicit.

Trump has been at odds with huge swathes of the population but has been quiet about gays lately-- until yesterday. Remember, NBC's 2016 exit polls showed that 14% of LGBTQ voters admitted they had cast ballots for Trump.

The other day we were looking at very consistent Trump's track record for always hiring the worst people for any given job-- which helps explain why his regime is such a dysfunctional, failed mess.

There are three governors who have been judged so dangerously incompetent that none can be singled out as the worst pandemic governor in America and all three share the spot: Kristi Noem of South Dakota, Ron DeSantis of Florida and Brian Kemp of Georgia. Because all have opposed sane social distancing policies, thousands of their states' citizens have been infected. California now has 865 confirmed COVID-19 cases per one million in the population.

Louisiana is a deep red state, although they elected a fairly conservative centrist Democrat, John Bel Edwards, governor-- twice. In 2016 the state went for Trump over Hillary 1,178,004 (58.1%) to 779,535 (38.4%). She took 10 of the state's 64 parishes-- basically the black vote and nothing more. The state has 2 ultra-conservative Republican U.S.

Lindsey Graham offered an amendment to the Pandemic Bailout Bill that would have penalized some workers, maybe even starved a few of their families to death or forced them into homelessness. We looked at that a couple of days ago. So did that naughty, naughty South Carolina actor (Anna Karenina-- The Musical and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle) Billy Hipkins. Thankfully, Lindsey's amendment failed.
