The Feds Spent $429,220 Tracking How Latino Families Behave at Grocery Stores

(ANTIMEDIA) California — It appears the United States government finds it necessary to spend taxpayer funds studying how Latino families behave at grocery stores. From a Washington Free Beacon article on Wednesday:
“The National Institutes of Health is spending over $400,000 on a study tracking the eye movements of Latinos and their children at grocery stores in a bid to fight obesity.

American Food Insecurity on the Decline but Still Widespread

Food insecurity in the United States may be declining, but many families are still unsure of where their next meal will come from.
According to the USDA, the number of households that were food insecure at some point during 2015 was down to 12.7% from 14% in 2014. However, food insecurity is more pervasive now than it was in 2007 when it was around 11%, almost a full 2% lower than it is today.

Scientists Unlock Puzzle Piece to Latinos’ Slow-Aging Process

A new study, published in the journal Genome Biology, suggests that despite a pre-disposition to a variety of health issues, Latinos age much more slowly than their counterparts of other races. This is partly due, scientists say, to their shared ancestry with the Native American population, who also age a bit more slowly than others.
