Colorado Judge Dismisses Felony Jury Tampering Charges Against Activists

All charges have been dropped for two men charged with jury tampering after they handed out pamphlets in front of the Lindsey-Flanigan Court in Denver.
Mark Iannicelli and Eric Brandt were arrested and charged with seven counts of jury tampering in July 2015.
Upon their arrest, the two took matters into their own hands and launched a federal lawsuit against the city of Denver for violating their First Amendment right to freedom of speech.

Dallas Police Speaks With Forked Tongue When it Comes to the Right to Record

In April 2014, the Dallas Police Department’s top-rank leadership made it clear they support the concept of the right to photograph and record in public.
But the department’s Internal Affairs Division, the Dallas Police Association (DPA), and a small but troublesome and aggressive minority of officers on the street have adopted a completely different and opposing position whereby they do all they can to protect officers who interfere with photographers, no matter how damning the evidence.

PINAC Reporter Jeff Gray conducted a weeklong school bus safety investigation in his hometown of St. Augustine, Florida.
His public records research revealed school bus drivers lying about mandatory pre-trip safety inspections, which he recorded them skipping.

Texas Deputy Arrests PINAC Correspondent for Video Recording Shell Refinery from Public Right-of-Way (Updated II)

A PINAC correspondent working on a story about a man who was arrested Monday for video recording outside a Shell refinery was arrested himself Tuesday for recording outside the same refinery.
Both were on public property but it appears as if the Harris County sheriff’s deputies who arrested them were off-duty and working security for the Shell refinery in Deer Park, an industrial municipality outside Houston. Essentially hired goons.

New York Cop Tries to Intimidate Man from Recording Police in Public

A Port Authority police officer tried to intimidate a man from recording officers trying to pull a man off a bus in New York City Saturday.
But the cop backed off as soon as Nick Hentoff mentioned he was an attorney.
His video shows Port Authority officers’ attempting to remove a passenger from the bus. The passenger appeared dazed. The passenger also fell down as he tried to stand up.
It was then that a officer on scene got off the bus and confronted Hentoff for video recording saying:

New Jersey State Police Sued for Breaking Car Window and Dragging Man Out During Traffic Stop

Dennis Ortiz was pulled over by New Jersey state police last year for driving 110 mph on the interstate as he was driving back from Pennsylvania to New Jersey.
He readily admitted to the speeding and agreed to step out of the vehicle, where he followed the officer’s instructions in performing a roadside sobriety test, which he passed.
Once he was allowed back inside his car, his girlfriend was recording and asked him to recap the scenario.
Ortiz spoke into the camera, saying the cops gave him an “unlawful sobriety test with no probable cause in the vehicle.”

Nebraska Cop Arrests Cop Block Activist in Video for Saying “Fuck the Police” on Public Sidewalk

Nebraska police arrested the founder of Omaha Cop Block for doing nothing more than “using four letter words” on a public sidewalk.
The Omaha police officer Lucpdo felt mocked, so he used his badge and gun to get street justice, punishing Floyd Wallace with a trip to jail for contempt of cop.
The YouTube effect doesn’t happen for police quite the same as it does for activists, since the officer’s video hasn’t yet surfaced.

As much as we all complain about how the police officers and paramedics crawling up our – lenses, yes, lenses – when taking photographs in public, there is another problem that anyone – amateurs, hobbyists, news crews, professionals, just regular people with iPhones – taking photographs in public needs pay attention to.

Federal Park Ranger Terrorizes Couple for Overstaying Visit to Massachusetts Seashore

A taser-wielding, power-tripping national park ranger terrorized a couple for overstaying their visit to the Massachusetts seashore by twenty minutes, tasering the man, then twisting his wife’s wrist backwards until he was convinced she was not armed, all in the name of officer safety.
But it was nothing but officer insanity as we can see in the 18-minute body cam footage from Federal Park Ranger Steve Glaser, showing a complete overreaction to what he even said was nothing put a parking infraction.
