Vladimir Putin just spoke at the most important geo-political event of the year
Russian President Vladimir Putin is in Astana along with the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in a ceremony and conference welcoming India and Pakistan to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
Putin spoke of the need for further cooperation on all matters of mutual interest ranging from trade to anti-terrorism measures. Putin’s speech which emphasised the need for unity between Asia and Eurasia and spoke of using the SCO as a means to help and better coordinate China’s One Belt–One Road trade project.

For those who think that the struggle of the Crimean people to return home only began in 2014, they simply do not know history.

US won’t send delegation to Syria talks in Astana
The peace talks on Syria, which are due to be held in the Kazakhstan capital of Astana on January 23, will not be attended by a special US delegation, said the US State Department acting spokesman, Mark Toner in a statement, cited by Reuters.
“Given our presidential inauguration and the immediate demands of the transition, a delegation from Washington will not be attending the Astana conference,” said Toner.
However, according to the State Department, the US will be represented at the meeting by its Ambassador to Kazakhstan George A. Krol.

Perhaps the fact that Obama was funding and weaponizing ISIS, and Trump wants to destroy ISIS, plays a key role in this development.
