Johnson and Johnson Vaccine

FDA announced that it was strictly limiting who can receive Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine due to the risk of blood clots, a potentially life-threatening side effect. Regulators added warnings about a neurological reaction called Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Denmark became the first country to stop using AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine altogether over a potential link to a rare but serious form of blood clot. Many countries in Europe and elsewhere have resumed using the shot. Denmark suspended the use of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

The CDC & FDA are reviewing data involving six reported US cases of a rare and severe type of blood clot in individuals after receiving the vaccine. Dr. Marks said the US believes the problem in the Johnson and Johnson and AstraZeneca vaccines is “related” to the adenovirus platform.
