Even if Trump loses the presidency and the Democrats hold the House, McConnell will still be able to block a progressive agenda if the GOP holds the Senate— or even a strong minority in the Senate. The Republicans are fighting to hold onto a majority and they will have all the money in the world to do just that. One screw up would be not being able to win back the Alabama Senate seat they narrowly lost to Doug Jones when Trump named Jeff Sessions Attorney General and then Republican voters nominated extremist and— worse for some GOP voters— child molester Roy Moore to replace Sessions.

Wouldn’t you like to see people who profit from robocallcalls die horrible deaths? 50 billion calls a year! 60% of all complaints to the FCC are about robocalls. And they’re not all done by firms in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Among the top 10 robocallers in the U.S. are Capital One, Fingerhut, Comcast, Wells Fargo and Santander. Theguilty parties regularly ignore the Do Not Call List. I live in California, where my state prohibits any robocall unless there is an existing relationship— and on average get around between a dozen and two-dozen robocalls a day.

Bill McKibben, the country's foremost green energy expert and activist, wrote that Biden "is too stuck in the past to be a credible standard-bearer for the Democratic party." Robert Reich released this video above before the new Morning Consult weekly poll came out. But it seems to back up what Reich said. "Trump's net approval sank to its lowest point since Putin handed him the key to the White House following the release of a redacted version of Mueller’s report. While 57% of registered voters disapproved of his job performance, only 39% approved.

The U.S. is the only advanced country in the world without a paid family leave program in place-- and American women have been picking up on that. Paid family leave was a big issue in Hillary Clinton's campaign that she handled very well-- but which was almost entirely ignored by the media. Years ago, I told Alan Grayson that the way to become the most popular political leader in America would be to figure out a way to ban robocalls, or-- at the very least-- how to make that ole 'do not call' list work again. But nothing ever came of it. He told me that "If you’re talking about how one gets rid of robocalls, then the answer is that you prosecute the people who send them.
