Merkel and Macron approval at record lows

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron are watching their approval rating plummet. Merkel’s coalition almost broke down terminally last month of the migration matter, causing Merkel to call a meeting in Brussels to discuss it, which led to the effective defeat of one of her biggest feats, the migration resettlement mandate. Macron has seen his numbers grow in reverse over a scandal relative to one of his bodyguards, who employed excessive force against protesters.

Iran rejects Trump’s offer for talks

The Iranian government has rejected US President Trump’s offer to talk without preconditions, and it’s based on Trump’s withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear non proliferation agreement termed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Trump’s words came after a fiery tweet, wherein he threatened Iran for threatening the US. Essentially, as long as America is not a party to the JCPOA, Iran is not interested in holding talks with the Americans.

Trump says that he is willing to meet with Rouhani

US President Donald Trump came out Monday with a statement that he was willing to meet with Iran’s leadership ‘anytime they want to’ and that there would ‘no preconditions, if they they want to meet, I’ll meet’, during a press conference with the Italian Prime Minister.
A couple of hours later, US Secretary of State issued comments which would seem to contradict Trump’s message by expressing that there are, in fact, preconditions to such a meeting.

G20 Agriculture Summit united in opposition to unilateral protectionism

The G20 represents about 80% of the world’s agricultural trade. At the recent summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, affirmed their commitment to free and open trade, a rules based system, and a multilateral order, and confirmed the joint opposition to unnecessary tariffs, trade wars, and unilateral protectionism. It even praised the WTO, which Trump has a major issue with. Essentially, it was a meeting of countries to agree that they don’t agree with Trump’s manner of doing business.

US advances ‘Arab alliance’ against ‘Iranian aggression’

Around the time Trump announced the United States’s withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear non proliferation agreement, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Bolton was pushing this idea of a kind of ‘Arab NATO’ type of alliance, to take America’s place in the Middle East. Trump has been touting the idea of withdrawing American troops from the region, but that wouldn’t suit Washington’s agenda over there, and could result in the return of some degree of stability, and that just can’t be allowed. So, enter the Bolton factor.

Iran overtakes Saudi Arabia to become second largest oil exporter to India

Iran has overtaken Saudi Arabia as the second largest oil supplier to India between the months of April and June, as Indian companies were seeking to capitalize on huge discounts provided by the Iran. Iraq still holds first place for the chief oil supplier to India. With the increase in oil supplies from Iran, however, there is question about how a sudden stop to Iranian imports would affect the Indian oil market if India decides to comply with Washington’s sanctions against Tehran, due to come into effect on November 4th.

The Madness That Is Gripping Washington

The United States and Israel have been threatening Iran for something like twenty years, using the pretext that it was developing a nuclear weapon initially, but also more recently declaring that Tehran has become a threat to the entire Middle East. Both contentions are essentially lies, concocted by an Israel and Saudi Arabia that would prefer to have Iran removed as a possible impediment to their own ambitions. And they would like the United States to do the removing.
