I'm totally enjoying season 2 of HBO hit, Succession, the Jesse Armstrong series created around the Roy family, sho some fans say is loosely based on the Murdoch family and others argue is loosely based on the Trump family-- but really combines both. The video up top was the first season's trailer and the one below is the second season trailer:Yesterday's McKay Coppins feature for the Atlantic, The Heir, will give a big boost to the Successor fans who swear the Roys and based on the Trumps.

Context Matters Except for the Palestinians

Those who are still hoping that the new American agenda on Palestine and Israel is temporary, or reversible, should abandon this false hope. Washington’s complete adoption of Israel’s messianic, extremist policies regarding Occupied Palestine has been a long time in the making. And it is here to stay.

Donald Trump’s supposed “deal of the century”, offering the Palestinians economic bribes in return for political submission, is the endgame of western peace-making, the real goal of which has been failure, not success.
For decades, peace plans have made impossible demands of the Palestinians, forcing them to reject the terms on offer and thereby create a pretext for Israel to seize more of their homeland.

Tillerson reported that both he and General Mattis were surprised in May 2017 when Kushner and Steve Bannon held a private meeting with the rulers of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates who discussed their intention to impose a blockade on Qatar.

The international backlash against Jared Kushner’s fundamentally flawed “Deal of the Century” has already begun, as protesters in Iraq besieged the Bahrain embassy in Baghdad. Crowds are accusing Bahrain of being a ‘US puppet’ and for selling out the Palestinian cause to corrupt US and Israeli interests. 

Calls for the annexation of the Occupied West Bank are gaining momentum in both Tel Aviv and Washington. But Israel and its American allies should be careful what they wish for. Annexing the Occupied Palestinian Territories will only reinforce the current rethink of the Palestinian strategy, as opposed to solving Israel’s self-induced problems.
