Going Long.... I’m of the opinion the US/Israel and France are not going to let their planned PKK homeland fade away. However, the person interviewed Fabrice Balanche has a different opinion. There have been a few previous reports here that have included information from Mr Balanche. He's knowledgeable and interesting. One statement he made certainly gave me a new view on the whole Turkey/Syria/Russian relationship. And yes, I think it's accurate too.
Over the past few months President Trump has unilaterally by Tweet and telephone begun to dismantle the U.S. military’s involvement in the Middle East. The irony is amazing, because in a general overarching narrative sense, this is what the marginalized antiwar movement has been trying to do for decades.1
President Trump has stated his intent to withdraw US troops from Syria on several occasions since March 2018. Each time politicians from both the Democratic and Republican parties, supported by the corporate-controlled media, have, based on US imperial interests, vehemently challenged the withdrawal proposal. These folks also based their opposition to withdrawal on their supposed concerns for the Syrian Kurds.
