The warmongers in the Trump administration (you didn’t fall for that isolationism scam did you?) have been exploring ways to blow up the Iran nuclear deal, which Trump has repeatedly castigated as “a very bad deal.”
One of the most successful examples of transatlantic cooperation in recent years was the conclusion of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which was finalized in July 2015. The deal imposes strict constraints on Iran’s nuclear program, and provides for enhanced transparency, in return for relief from international sanctions.
On the 19th of May, Iranians will go to the polls to vote for their next President.
The contest is now more or less of a two horse race as the conservative former mayor of Tehran, Mohammad-Baghar Ghalibaf has just dropped out of the race. A political veteran who came second in the 2013 Presidential election, Mohammad-Baghar Ghalibaf has decided to endorse the somewhat less well known but even more conservative candidate Ebrahim Raisi.

(ANALYSIS) — After launching the disastrous missile strikes against Syrian military forces that resulted in the killing of Syrian soldiers, civilians, and children as well as sending ships toward North Korea in a flagrant act of aggression and dropping the largest known non-nuclear bomb on Afghanistan, the Trump administration is now taking aim at Iran.
In an interview with Russia’s RIA Novosti, the senior Russian diplomat on non-proliferation issues, Mikhail Ulyanov, said that a collapse of the deal, which is meant to last for over a decade, would hurt the entire international community and should be avoided.
