The Simpsons come through... bigly. Less hilarious is the Newsweek suggestion that Señor Trumpanzee may fire Mueller next week while Congress is away for holiday vacation. That's what Jackie Speier (D-CA) says she's hearing in the Capitol-- specifically that he'll fire Mueller on Dec. 22. Democrats will want to impeach him if he does-- but so what? Republicans control both houses of Congress and there aren't many who would go along either.

Pelosi isn't happy about Tom Steyer's $10 million worth of impeachment ads. Neither is Trump. Pelosi says the ad is "a distraction." Her latest desperate strategy is a new slogan: "No Drama Democrats," which is supposed to make someone think that the Dems, in contrast to the chaotic Republicans, are the natural governing party.

Pelosi hasn't exactly declared impeachment "off the table" again-- she's dying to but she wouldn't last 5 minutes as Democratic Leader if she did-- but she has made it clear she's not interested in talking about impeachment, certainly not before the midterms. Maybe she and her Beltway advisors think it's bad strategy. But California billionaire Tom Steyer, who wants to run for governor or senator or something, thinks it's the right thing to do.

I haven't noticed any of the polling firms that now routinely ask if people think Trump is a liar or not-- most do-- whether or not people think Trump is a crook. I predict that in less than a year, that will be a standard polling question-- and that eventually most Americans will say yes. I assume the majority of DWT readers already are ready to say Trump is a crook.
