Saudi Arabia Blocks UN Aid Shipment From Entering Yemen

The Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen prevented a UN flight carrying aid agency staff traveling to the Houthi-controlled capital, Sanaa, because three international journalists were also on board, aviation sources said.

Purported ‘US Aid Worker’ Kidnapped In Yemen Was Coordinating Weapons Shipments

In 2015, US logistics coordinator Scott Darden was captured by Houthi forces in the Yemeni capital city of Sanaa, and held for six months before his release. During that time, he was presented purely as participating in helping the delivery of humanitarian aid into the country.

Cholera outbreak kills scores in Yemen

A cholera outbreak is sweeping through the Yemeni capital Sanaa, the Ministry of Health reported late Sunday.
“This declaration came after the cholera epidemic spreads across the capital’s districts and neighborhoods,” the health ministry said, adding that 115 people had died of the epidemic in the past two weeks alone with an additional 2,567 already infected.

Peace activists are holding a week-long vigil and hunger strike at United Nations headquarters in New York City to demand an end to the U.S.-backed, Saudi Arabia-led war in Yemen and humanitarian aid for the country’s starving population.
