World Health Organization: CBD Is Safe, With No Potential For Abuse

2017 was an exciting year for supporters of hemp.
The stigma surrounding this plant has continued to decrease as more and more people discover hemp’s almost limitless uses. While hemp isn’t completely legal in the U.S. (yet), there’s growing bipartisan support in Congress, and at every level of our government, in support of full legalization.

Kenya bans plastic bags, threatening 4 years imprisonment and $40,000 fines

 
Rejecting a plea from manufacturers that the production of plastic bags creates jobs, Kenya’s high court on Monday paved the way for the world’s strongest ban on plastic bags to come into full effect.
The law, representing Kenya’s third attempt at a ban in the past decade, comes with harsh penalties. For now, they are aimed mostly at manufacturers and suppliers, but police are allowed to go after people who are simply carrying them. The highest penalties could include four years in prison and up to $40,000 in fines.

As millions of Houston residents faced life-threatening flooding on Monday with the saturated remnants of Hurricane Harvey expected to bring even more heavy rains in the days ahead, journalist Naomi Klein warned against the notion, already being pushed by some on the right, that the disaster shouldn’t be “politicized.”
