Hate Hoax

Pharrel Smith, an 18-year old black man, was arrested on charges of attempted murder in an unrelated shooting case that took place on September 1, 2022. He will be extradited to Alabama “to face a felony charge of making a terroristic threat” in the alleged hoax case.

Oregon politician Jonathan Lopez admitted to police that he sent an "anonymous" hate-filled racist letter to himself in a bid to advance his political career. He lost the primary race and placed fourth when he was a candidate for county commissioner in May 2020.

Hate-crime hoaxes across America are on the increase in an apparent attempt to promote the narrative that white supremacy is everywhere.

Although police haven’t released details, the arrest seems to indicate the man may have either been involved in the graffiti himself or was trying to use it to defraud his car insurance company.

A sad side note to this story is that the false story of Amari having some of her hair cut off made international news, but the murder of John Weed, a man who was beaten by two black teens at a fair, was ignored.

The broadcasting company hired a digital-forensic expert who says the IP address for the message was traced to Seth Dunlap’s own phone. If convicted of extortion, Dunlap could face 15 years in prison.

Edawn Coughman is accused of staging a fake hate crime by spraying nazi and racist graffiti on his restaurant in hopes of making an insurance claim and possibly to garner public sympathy. His truck had several television sets with brackets and drywall still attached.

Senator Cory Booker called on the House of Representatives to pass a bill, that was passed by the Senate last summer, to designate lynching as a hate crime. [Cannot help but wonder if these same wise legislators would consider designating the fabrication of a hate crime to be a hate crime.]
