In the wake of recent tragic school shootings, anxious parents are contemplating homeschooling to protect their children. After February’s school shooting in Parkland, Florida, the Miami Herald reported that more parents were considering the homeschooling option. And after Friday’s disturbing school shooting in Sante Fe, Texas, a local ABC news affiliate in Alabama reported the increasing appeal of homeschooling.
Santa Fe, TX— A 17-year-old high school student identified as Dimitrios Pagourtzis opened fire at the Houston-area Santa Fe High School with a shotgun and a handgun, killing 10 people and leaving another 14 people wounded – including a school police officer who confronted the suspect during the attack at Santa Fe High School.

Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin is considering putting UN soldiers on the streets to combat gun violence, saying that UN 'peacekeepers', would be more suited to patrolling the streets than the US National Guard because they are better “trained” for the role. [That means they are more likely to obey orders to shoot Americans.] Earlier this year, President Trump suggested deploying the National Guard in troubled areas of Chicago, but his idea was fiercely opposed by Democrats.
In Las Vegas on 1 October 2017, it appears that one man (although it might have been more) killed 58 people and shot and injured another 241 (with almost 300 more injured while fleeing). The incident got a lot of publicity, partly because the man managed to kill more people than most mass killers.
