Google’s Chinese search engine, called 'Dragonfly', will censor dissidents, block information critical of the government, and will link searches to phone numbers, thus allowing authorities to identify who is making the searches. [Google finds nothing wrong with participating in this program.]

Dragonfly, the search system, was designed to remove content that China’s authoritarian government views as sensitive, such as information about free speech, democracy, human rights, and peaceful protest. Poulson also had concerns over the accessibility customer data to Chinese agencies that target political activists and journalists.
