Following on the theme started with the previous post: A Fresh Look at the French Revolution- The Liberals vs the People. Where we all learn of an alternative history to the French revolution. One that sees the masses enraged, group of fighters/rebels fight against the republic for years afterwards. Only to be massacred by the state. None of which was mentioned in the usual history booksIt should be clear that History is written by the Winners/Victors.

 We had some commentary regarding the french revolution as compared to the yellow vest protests. Most people wrongly believe the "french revolution' was all about the people tossing an insolent ruler to the curb. And then gaining enlightenment. It was nothing of the sort.

I've long been ambivalent about Sibel Edmonds- Here work has only appeared at the blog a few times.  An exception has been made for her latest report. In my opinion it's worth reading. Pretty sure this is a first for the blog- John Rappaport. A partial essay below.Me, briefly thinking out loud. Glaring contradictions appear so often in our daily lives that I came to wonder if people had become sort of oblivious to the pernicious presence of these contradictions.  The very idea of war for peace is contradictory, as an example. Only cognitive dissonance has people believing this is not contradictory. Like the very idea of "the good war"Any war results in death, destruction, resource waste, disease and upswing in crime, ethnic cleansing etc., Are those things "good"?
