BREAKING: Macron email hacking shows that free speech is dead in France

Nearly 9 gigabytes of information from private emails belonging to French Presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron have been leaked after an apparent hack. The leaks came to light late Friday evening, less than two days before polls open in the final round of elections.
The hack is said to contain business documents and related photos.
Macron’s campaign have said that some of the leaked files are fake.
Wikileaks is currently running each document through its copious verification process.
But this is not even the main story.

Emmanuel Macron has banned popular international media outlets RT and Sputnik from his campaign headquarters and his private events which most media sources are more or less automatically allowed to cover.

An audience at a taping of a Russian debate show learned that free speech isn’t always without its cuts and bruises. During a debate on Russia’s role in The Great Patriotic War and how it allowed for the liberation of Europe, a far-right Polish commentator Tomasz Maciejczuk said that Russian journalist Ruslan Ostashko’s ancestors were ‘red fascists’.
Because Russians sacrificed over 20 million people to defeat fascism, calling any Russian a fascist is a grave insult. Maciejczuk is a well know provocateur and used the epithet to intentionally inflame the debate.

The CIA doesn’t need to spy on free thinkers, the private sector does it for free

Even prior to the release of Vault 7 from Wikileaks, people knew that so-called intelligence agencies in western states had the means to spy on their own citizens. Many also assumed that the typical illegality of such activities was of no consequence for agencies and individuals in those agencies who regard themselves as being above the law.

RT banned from Macron events. Is a national ban next?

Despite asking for full press accreditation in April, the Macron campaign did not give RT what is a standard press credential to cover major campaign events. According to RT, Emmanuel Macron’s campaign didn’t give an actual reason for denying RT’s journalists and crew passes. They instead, repeatedly stated,

“They are still being processed”.
