Members of Congress continued to get richer last year, resulting in more than 50% of lawmakers possessing a net worth of $1 million or more—something that’s never happened before in congressional history.
Frank Lautenberg died Sunday night. He was, at 89 the oldest member of the Senate, had been ill for a long time and his death doesn't surprise many. Now Obama's BBF, Gov. Chris Christie gets to appoint a successor. Lautenberg was a dependable progressive across the board. His ProgressivePunch crucial vote score was 94.05, just between Barbara Boxer and Tammy Baldwin.
The senator in 2010by KenI know it's in terrible taste, but instead of paying tribute to New Jersey's senior senator, who died today of viral pneumonia at 89, I'm going to jump to the political aftermath. I'm afraid I can offer only two justifications:(1) I don't know quite what to say about the senator -- at least nothing that DWT readers don't all know. At a time when it becomes harder and harder to identify authentic liberals in the U.S.
