DEA’s Ban of Kratom is Sending Many into Fury

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has recently stated that the herbal supplement kratom will be taken off of the market. It’s being taken off because the organization now classifies 2 of its major ingredients as Schedule I substances, so now the supplement is bunched with harder drugs like ecstasy, heroin, and LSD. And although this move is welcome by some, many are furious over the decision, claiming that kratom has actually saved their lives. [1]

Denver may Allow Marijuana Use in Cafes, Concerts, Yoga Studios

You can’t smoke cigarettes in a bar, but if some marijuana advocates in Colorado get their way, you’ll soon be able to vape cannabis in one. [1]

Report Shows “Staggering” Signs of Ill Mental Health Among 9/11 First Responders

A recent report on 9/11 responders has found that many of these individuals are suffering from numerous mental health issues, including dementia (or are showing signs that they will develop it as they age). Doctors and researchers are astounded by this discovery, especially because the average age of those who participated in the study was only 53. These disorders are most often diagnosed in those over the age of 70, which prompted researchers to call the results of their study “staggering.” [1]

The finding is harrowing, considering that approximately half of all prescriptions written for antibiotics in the United States are inappropriate and that a recent study found that antibiotics are prescribed to children about twice as often as they should be. [2]

Recall: Entenmann’s Little Bites Snacks

Entenmann’s Little Bites fudge brownies, chocolate chip muffins, and variety packs are being recalled due to the fact that some of them may contain “little pieces of plastic” inside of the snacks. [1]
Bimbo Bakeries in Illinois, which produces the Little Bites, has said that this is due to a manufacturing failure. The company is issuing the recall voluntarily.
So far, one person has been injured by the snack.
