Forty years ago, the USSR was reportedly bombarded by radio traffic from Voice of America’s powerful transmitters. The American narrative on this was that our radio media were broadcasting information into the country to help the suffering Russian people rise up and throw off the shackles of totalitarian communism.
Apparently, so the narrative goes, it worked. Communism collapsed and the Soviet Union was no more.

Two months ago, the American Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) launched a hit reboot of the sitcom series Roseanne.
The series received remarkably wide acclaim, and the admittedly crass comedienne Roseanne Barr aroused quite a bit of attention by portraying herself on this program as a Trump supporter.
Yesterday, the network canceled their own hit program. Why? Because Roseanne tweeted a slur directed at former President Obama’s prima adviser, Valerie Jarrett.
In looking for a definition of “deep state”, one comes up with this:

In 2014, conservative voters in the United States were energized to vote Republican because every candidate for Congress in those midterm elections who was a GOP member, campaigned on one theme.
“If you elect me, I will stop Obama.”
In an amazing outburst of consistency, every single GOP candidate that promised this was elected to office in that midterm. This promise was not part of any “platform” that the Republican Party was offering that year. But it was nevertheless what the American voters wanted.

The former rapid response director for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, Zac Petkanas, declared, “Chelsea Manning could have leaked the info anywhere. She went to an arm of Russian intelligence bent [on] supplanting liberal democracy worldwide with right-wing authoritarianism.”
