I started watching Rick and Morty when the pilot episode of Season 3 came out a few weeks ago. I began with that episode, then went back to the beginning and watched almost the entire thing in an afternoon. And just like that, I was a member of one of the most eccentric, bubbly fan clubs currently active.
Imagine my excitement when I found out the Rickmobile is a thing, and that it was coming to Atlanta.
In The Circle, the totality of the problem is that private enterprise, and actually just one company with a nearly complete monopoly, is the source of all problems. Sadly, the movie just ends up collapsing into a classic anti-capitalist screed that wildly exaggerates the power of business while completely ignoring the actual real-world problem of government intrusion in the digital space.
Rather than creating a government-run microfinance platform and granting it a monopoly, we should simply change how microfinance is taxed.
Trump wants to cut business tax to 15% and apply that rate to small businesses and freelancers. This is potentially game-changing since millions of high-earners could simply recategorize their earnings as business income. You could effectively cut the top rate from 39.6% to 15% in one go.

Income equality sounds like a good thing until you realize it means that everyone is equally poor. Income inequality means that if you enter the workforce with low skills and low income, you can move up the ladder to higher incomes as you improve and increase your skills. But it also means that some people are richer than others. When is income mobility worth the income difference?
