Obama isn't running for president, or anything else, again. The collection of atrocious corporate shills and conservative shitheads Steve Israel recruited isn't going to inspire any base voters I ever heard of to go vote. Israel tells donors he plans to win the 17 seats the Democrats need to win back the House.

Several of my friends have been grumbling about Elizabeth Warren's support for conservative border state and Southern Democrats, Alison Lundergan Grimes (KY), Natlaie Tennant (WV), Mary Landrieu (LA), Sam Nunn's daughter (GA), Mark Pryor (AR) and Kay Hagan (NC). On a national level, she's, by far, the biggest star in the Senate. Other than lobbyists, Wall Street brokers and special interests who would go out to a rally headlined by Harry Reid, Dick Durbin, Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand, Mark Warner, Dianne Feinstein, Joe Donnelly?

As you may have guessed, I'm really enjoying Elizabeth Warren's new book, A Fighting Chance and hope you're either reading it too or will soon. The book makes it so clear why we're progressives and not garden variety partisans on either side of the aisle. This morning, I thought I'd share a couple of paragraphs from the book with you.

Ralph Nader wrote a very perceptive essay in the wake of the edifying defeat of the despicable arch-imperialist, Israel Firster and reliable servant of Wall St. Banksters, Eric Cantor, at the capable hands of the libertarian leaning Professor David Brat.  It was titled “Can Progressives Learn From Eric Cantor’s Defeat”?  Can they? Yes.  Will they?  It is highly doubtful.

Yesterday, the Republicans successfully filibustered Elizabeth Warren's Bank on Students Emergency Loan Refinancing Act. All 44 cosponsors are Democrats and all 38 filibusterers were Republicans. It needed 60 votes but fell 4 short.
