UN to vote on urgent help for Syria’s Eastern Ghouta

Russia has vetoed several draft resolutions on Syria which it says are unfair and biased, often following “fabricated” evidence [Xinhua]The United Nations Security Council is expected to vote on a new resolution calling for a 30-day ceasefire in Syria, following reports of heavy fighting and mass casualties near the capital Damascus.
Russia had called for the Security Council to meet to discuss the resolution, while Kuwait and Sweden called for a vote.

DAMASCUS: 2 attacks–1 real and 1 fake

Two events have surreally coincided today in different parts of Damascus.
First there was a fake chemical attack in Eastern Ghouta and shortly thereafter an all too tragic and an all too real treble suicide bombing attack.
Two of the suicide bombers detonated their cars which were loaded with bombs near the Airport Roundabout in Eastern Damascus while a third was able to make it to a downtown area where he set off his bomb.

Chemical Attack in Idlib: Duplication of Scenario in Eastern Ghouta

On April 7, two U.S. Navy battle ships USS Porter (DDG-78) and USS Ross launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at al-Shayrat military airfield in Syria’s Homs province from the Eastern Mediterranean. The U.S. strikes particularly targeted the main landing strip, aircraft, radio locators, air defense system and fuel stations.
