MINNEAPOLIS — Not long before Donald Trump took his presidential oath, the Obama administration was taking care of unfinished business in a part of the world that many Americans likely never think much about. In Somalia, a nation forced into a state of emergency thanks in part to an ongoing famine that is being fueled by a covert U.S. war on terrorism.
The United States has confirmed that it has shot down an Iranian drone flying over Syria near the now infamous illegal US base near At Tanf in southern Syria.
At Tanf has been the location of several illegal US attacks on Syrian and allied convoys.
This is the first aggressive act the US has committed against a Syrian allied aircraft in 48 hours. Two days ago, the US downed a Syrian jet flying in Syrian airspace, a clear violation of the letter and spirit of international law.
(ANTIMEDIA) Like clockwork, the mainstream media is fervently focusing on a story filled with scandal and intrigue: James Comey’s testimony. Whether it’s a terror attack in the west, a celebrity tailspin, or a superficial drama like James Comey’s conversations in Congress today, when the media drives an obsessive narrative, there’s usually other events occurring.
“But Russia might have intervened with our democratic process!” some may retort. “Donald Trump is probably a criminal!”

(ANTIWAR) Continuing a string of regular drone strikes against targets in rural Yemen dating back to last week, US drones today attacked and killed a pair of young boys on a road outside the village of Yakla. There were no indications any combatants were anywhere near the targeted spot.

(ANTIMEDIA) France — Ideas on how to combat drones are getting more interesting by the day. On Monday, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported that since 2016, the French Air Force has been training eagles to rip drones straight out of the sky. From that report:
“Faced with the risk of drones being used to snoop or carry out attacks on French soil, the air force is showing its claws.
“The Constitution is clear: The American people deserve a voice on matters of war and peace.”
