The War on Conspiracy Realists Continues

Do you believe that governments occasionally conspire to undermine the public good? Do you believe that governments manipulate people through fear to achieve nefarious ends such as war and intervention abroad? Do you believe that ‘elected’ officials serve rich and powerful special interests rather than the majority population?
It was not your usual celebration to mark the launch of a new venture. While Secretary of State for Scotland David ‘Fluffy’ Mundell was opening a food bank upstairs from a baker’s in Dumfries town centre, noisy demonstrators gathered in the street outside demanding he came down to explain himself. But ‘Fluffy’ chose to treat his constituents with contempt and slink out the back door under police protection and into a waiting car.

‘It’s A Distortion That The BBC Wants To Be Fair’
There’s something truly disturbing about the fact that British prime minister David Cameron’s efforts to decide how the media refer to Islamic State are being taken seriously. So seriously, in fact, that 120 MPs have backed the idea that the BBC should not use the name Islamic State and refer to the group by the Arabic acronym “Daesh” instead. Cameron’s argument is that Islamic State is neither Islamic nor a state.
It was to be expected, and nothing more clearly illustrated the gap between the uncaring rich and the 99 per cent.
Scott Walker's entire public career has been founded on flat-out lies and distortions-- and even more so since he became governor of Wisconsin. The Koch brothers' favorite for the GOP presidential nomination was just caught out in another bold-faced lie.
An article on page 6 of The Times on 6th June 2015 appeared under the following title: “Cameron to rally G7 leaders in global fight against corruption“.
The article opens with a reference to a recent scandal about corruption in how world football is managed, and then continues:
Friday, May 8th we woke to the depressing news that the Conservative party led by David Cameron had been re-elected as the UK national government. Depressing unless you’re living in a house worth £2 million or more – and didn’t want to pay higher property tax that is! The Conservatives took 37% of the vote and won a staggering 331 seats (650 seats make up the House of Commons): around 50 more than opinion polls had consistently suggested.

The UK’s dysfunctional democracy has enabled a mere 37% of voters to give Cameron a clear majority of seats. From this travesty he claims a full ‘mandate’ and no doubt feels all-powerful as he parades his troops.
