I’m writing to you from war-torn Syria where the suffering of the people is beyond comprehension, heart-breaking.
The war in and on Syria has been started in spring 2011 – the underlying conflicts much much earlier.
What our media have shown us is snipers, bombings, killings, ruins, dead bodies and press conferences with Western politicians.
Can a World War still be avoided?

Russia: US can pressure Syrian rebels on ceasefire
Fighting in and around Aleppo has generally subsided giving civilians much needed reprieve, but there have been reports of violations [Xinhua]
Russia has accused US-backed Syrian rebels of failing to hold their end of the bargain in a ceasefire which only began four days ago.
Major General Igor Konashenkov of the Russian military said in a statement from the Kremlin on Friday that he suspected Syrian rebels – namely Islamist armed groups – may not have the ability to comply with the tenets of the ceasefire agreement.
Syrian Government Says it Shot Down Two Israeli Aircraft
(MEE) Israel on Tuesday denied a Syrian government claim that it shot down two Israeli aircraft, in what, would be the first clash of its kind in five years of civil war if confirmed.
A statement issued by the Syrian Defense Ministry on Tuesday morning said an Israeli warplane and a drone were shot down after they carried out a bombing raid on a Syrian army position in the south-western city of Quneitra.
UN prepares for Syria meet

New Zealand’s UN ambassador announced late Thursday that the Security Council will hold a meeting on Syria later this month on the sidelines of the annual General Assembly.
New Zealand currently holds the UNSC’s rotating presidency; its Prime Minister John Key is expected to chair the meeting.
The announcement comes amid the international community’s continued stalled efforts to end the five-year Syrian civil war which has killed at least 250,000 people and displaced millions.
